Overview

Hiding, Hurting & Healing is a Biblically-based program for women who have experienced adult or childhood emotional, physical or verbal abuse and are seeking healing from the shame and hurt that remains. Hiding, Hurting & Healing is for any woman who desires to move beyond hiding and hurting, to find healing through a new life in Jesus Christ. Out of the Shadows is an additional Biblically-based program designed to follow Hiding, Hurting & Healing.

This is program for women who have experienced abuse, betrayal, traumatic experiences or painful relationships.

Out of the Shadows is for any woman who desires a deeper understanding and a lasting solution to the powerful emotions and circumstances that causes inner distress. 1. Foundational heart truths from the Bible; 2. Practical tools from the Bible for difficult life issues; and Biblical Truths of Power over the Enemy—Satan—who comes to kill steal and destroy. 3. DVDS, 4. exercises, 5. testimonies and 5. discussion augment the teaching to bring head knowledge into heart knowledge and then into our experience in a life-changing way. This program offers an opportunity to share issues, problems, victories and questions in a confidential setting. 6. Assignments.

Leadership

Rev. JoAnne Crosby has been the Director of the Hiding, Hurting & Healing Ministry since the program was developed in 1999. JoAnne wrote the material from her own experience, as well as input from other women involved in the program. JoAnne’s Credentials and experience include:

• Bachelor of Arts Degree in Human Services – Metro State University
• Licensed in Specialized Ministry – Assemblies of God Church
• Women’s Ministry Associate – Emmanual Christian Center
• Anger Management Program Administrative Assistant – The Compassion Workshop
• Facilitator of “Overcomers” Christian 12-Step Program – Various churches throughout the Twin Cities
• Experienced Chemical Dependency Counselor – Secular and Church Settings
• Abuse and Chemical Dependency Teacher –LoveLines Crisis Center 24-hour Christian hotline--prayer and a listening ear.
