"I had suffered sexual abuse as a preteen which caused all sorts of emotional problems. Besides the sexual abuse, I was married to a man who had been cheating on me. I thought we had a good marriage of 23 years, so this affair was destroying me. In church one Sunday, I read in the bulletin about the group Hiding Hurting Healing. It was a group for abused women and I thought that's just what I needed. I met women with similar heartaches and together we learned about who we are in Christ, about setting boundaries and how to forgive. I went through the program twice and a training program to become a leader. It is very rewarding to help women, to show them the love of Christ, to encourage them that there is life after abuse. “Today, August 22, 2014, I had a testimony percolate through my mind to write up for as many as possible to see, extolling the whole concept and ministry team of Hiding Hurting Healing. Thank you JoAnne Crosby for listening to the Holy Spirit, in the beginning and to the present...and for being the anointed Director of HHH...and we know it is all through Christ, Who gets all the glory. If it had not been for the real love of all the leaders, (I will not list names because I would not be able to remember all the names during my eight years in HHH), in the consistent giving of grace and the unfathomable honoring of me as a person worthy of acceptance and made to feel that I belonged, I could not have benefited as I have from HHH, which is the gift that keeps giving. (In all the workshops, other than very minimal for initial notebook/printing materials, there is never a fee charged). “A couple years ago, the Lord led me to Hiding, Hurting and Healing. I had been praying for direction in my life and the Lord told me that he wanted me to help hurting women. My own background enabled me to be an understanding ear to those that needed to be heard. After years of healing from sexual, physical and emotional abuse, I had to work through my own unforgiveness, anger, guilt and shame before I could find the peace that Jesus had offered.
